A Dedication To My Family
My parents immigrated to the USA in the ’80s and have made a home here for themselves and their children. The same goes for my husband’s family. We consider ourselves very lucky to be able to grow up in a society with the freedom and resources available to us that we needed to grow and succeed. For that, I will be forever grateful to my parents. They, like most parents I imagine, have sacrificed a lot for their children and families. I hope I am able to meet their expectations as a daughter and now mother to their grandchildren.
As I begin this new journey in life, I would like to dedicate this new beginning to my parents, my husband, and my two beautiful children.
I met my husband in the summer of 2002 and we have been together ever since. Well, I shouldn’t say ever since, because like all relationships we too had our share of hurdles and breakups but we eventually always ended up finding our way back to one another. He has been my rock and the one person I have relied on the most throughout my life. And I am sure he would say the same about me. We have lived through college, medical school (his), residency, and fellowship years together and have conquered all of the challenges that came our way. We have fought for each other and with each other. Challenged one another mentally when no one would listen to our deep conversations. One of us (me) has even fallen asleep numerous times while having those deep conversations. He is the reason why I have started this venture and he will always be my #1.
Together, we have battled infertility and won. We have two beautiful children together, Samaira and Samarth, to show from it. Our daughter, Samaira, is three going on thirteen and is full of sass and spunk. But I will say that she is a big help with our 10-month-old son, Samarth. She is a great big sister but at times she does have her jealous spells which are totally understandable. I am so beyond grateful to them for choosing me to be their mother. I hope I can do justice to their love and provide them with a loving home they deserve.
Putting my mom-guilt aside, I would like to begin this journey and dedicate this to my family. I love you all deeply.
xoxo,
Unnati
