My name is Unnati and I am a certified pediatric sleep consultant, public health researcher, daughter, sister, wife, mother, and most importantly your biggest cheerleader.
I live outside of Atlanta, GA with my husband (who is a child psychiatrist), my daughter, and my son. Needless to say, my kids keep me busy. And that’s why I look forward to the evening. No, I do not recommend traditional sleep training methods until the baby is over four months old. This is more focused on building your connection with your baby, and establishing healthy sleep foundations. I also share soothing strategies that allow you to be present as needed and still allow your baby to practice independent sleep.

No, In fact, we will discuss ways how you can keep up with your baby’s nutritional needs throughout the first four months of life (and beyond). I’m also a big promoter of making sure there are plenty of cuddles, AND bonding opportunities for both parents, and I actually recommend BABY-WEARING as a tool to give parent/parents some freedom.

The answer is NO. I do not use the traditional CRY-IT-OUT approach but there will be some crying involved. Why you may ask? Well, the simple answer is that babies cry and fuss. That is their way of communicating with us. They cry when they are hungry, cry when they spoiled their diaper, cry when they are sleepy, and cry when they just want the extra snuggles. Crying is inevitable, but being tired in motherhood doesn’t have to be. I have an entire lesson on crying and things you can do to help soothe your baby during those stressful crying moments.

Yes, I follow the AAP recommendations of having the baby sleep in the PARENT'S room (not bed) for at least the first 6 months. Some decide to move their little ones into their own room sooner and that is fine as well.

YES! Establishing healthy sleep foundations in the first few months is going to actually promote healthy eating and will make sure your baby is eating enough during the day and night. I share ways on how to make those night wakings a little easier where you simply feed and get your baby back to sleep without them being up for hours at a time. However, if you want to drop feedings because you are up every 1-2 hours at night, then there is a lesson that walks you through how to drop night feeds.
